GPU For £500 Assistance

I wouldn't say it's that much. Not enough to warrant the price difference, at least for me anyway. I'd rather have a 'plain' 780.

It is that much in the benchmarks url you posted. If the speed is about 15-20% higher then adding 15-20% onto the price of the 780, you're right, its about £80-ish more for the Ti. I went for the plain 780 too, but if the 780Ti was out I would have bought that, I just want the best available, but that's just me.

Fast enough to matter and only more so when new games appear.

Seen that link before but 10FPS in one of the results.

Can show you another thread with same link and a peep saying "wow I did not know the difference was as much as that". ;)

Oh dear, for a start gsync is not included in that extra £100, he'll need a new monitor for sure.

CUDA, please explain why he'll need this.

PhysX, just lol, can count in 1 hand the number of games that use it enough to make a difference, Borderlands 2, Batman, Mirrors Edge etc etc.

Shadowplay, this one I'll agree on, very good piece of software.

Gameworks, nothing using it atm and like PhysX could be much ado about nothing.

Better support, depends on brand, if you mean nvidia customer support then tbh AMD's is just as good.

Games work without faffing around, won't even reply to that, laughable.

Arguably better drivers, both sides still have problems for some people.

Does the 780 work better in SLI and being watercooled and OC than the 290s ?

I sooo hate making my mine up lol. I've got two in the basket, a Sapphire R9 290 Vapor-x and an EVGA GTX 780 SC and i cant for the life of me figure out which to remove lol.

The 780 comes in a £35 more expensive, but i've read they are better for watercooling and SLI which is where i will ultimately go

I answered the OP's question, now I've answered yours. 1st time you're a guest, 2nd time you're a pest.

Each to their own, of course.

If the prices of the 'Ti' drop down a bit more, then maybe...but until then, I'd rather have the 780. Everyones needs are different.

I hate to say it but shop around... You can get a 290X for £320 new.

It's reference but you mentioned watercooling so it's a good choice.

I think that's the best bang for buck high end card atm.
