Am I stuck with only the 5090 to use with the new LG 45 inch 5k2k monitor I realise most games are not optimised for the highest setting I was going to buy both at once or buy monitor keep it boxed til maybe better gpu comes out with reading reviews the 5090 although good has a few issues

You will be fine with a 5080 and the £1000 you save VS a 5090 will mostly pay for a 6080 when they come around. I'm using a 5080 with a higher res screen (7680 x2160) and get decent performance in most games.

Thank you both 6080 maybe 2027 I guess and I got itchy fingers for the screen now lol I do mostly car racing sims

That monitor curve is very aggressive for the monitor. I’m going to wait for the one which is a bit flatter.

Unless there's a big price drop next gen the 5080/6080 should be be good enough with the option of DLSS multi-frame insertion. My 4080 is fine on a 32" 4K monitor and the recent DLSS improvements put me off bothering with a 4090/5090.

I had the chance to play with a 5090 for a day and the one thing that stood out the most was that the power usage was double my 4080!

Thank you for the advice helped me to decide as I thought with the youtube vids the curve was a bit much its been years since I upgraded currently got 36 inch screen and er cough a 1080ti! Still does thd trick but feel its upgrade time I think I will wait for the bendy one and see what next gen gpu is like
