Hi all,

i'm ripping an existing works pc apart and was wondering whether i'll see a big difference in performance in Photosop CS5 (x64) if i replace my existing HD5450 with a Quadro FX580?
I'm guessing an improvement, but would appreciate your opinions on how much you think.
I often work with 70mb files, applying various filters like liquify, or making sepias with colours showing through etc, so multi-layered, multi-channeled, multi-path .psd files really.

Thanks for any advice.

None really, Photoshop doesn't make any proper use of the GPU for image processing. Just a few things like zooming/shifting the canvas around and colour space conversions too iirc. If you deal with large images you want a fast CPU (Note fast, not necessarily lots of cores or threads), lots of RAM and a fast scratchdisk set up :)

Rig in my sig is what i use Adrianr. I do notice that when masking or creating clipping paths with multiple points (when not using beziers) that the redraw slightly lags behind my mouse clicks.
Just wondered if the FX580 being a certified workstation card may be better.
