Hi all,

Ive got a msi r9 280 and using the msi gaming app i have it in gaming mode. The issue i have is i noticed one of my LED strip lights had fell down and i took the side panel off the reattach it but as i put my hand in i felt an almighty burst of heat from my gpu.Now i understand it should get warm but this was quite hot.
Its relitavly new and never really been put under load.No overclocking etc.Is there any way to check the temp of it .

At the time of it happening i was playing a bit of H1Z1.

Ive since turned the game of and ran the turbo cool from the app , it seems to of settled..but still warm

Is this normal

Yup, the msi gaming cooler is quite crap. It values silence over performance, but tbh there is probably nothing wrong. Just make sure that you have decent case airflow and you'll be fine :)

58 degrees is perfectly acceptable. Quite good in fact. I've scolded myself with a hot gpu before and there was nothing wrong with mine either. In fact, if anything, at least it means the heat sink is doing its job properly.
