Hi there,
I've got an RTX 3080TI FE in a Corsair Hydro X series XG7 waterblock.
Whilst under load, Using CPUID HWMonitor i am getting a hotspot temp of 86- 88c.
Other temps are 40-50c.
Is there any other monitoring software that will give an idea of where the hotspot is?
I'm gonna remove and repaste the block, but i'm hoping for some clue where the heat
is ie core or mems or vrms
TIA Mick

you mention

is that the core temp under load? if so your hotspot should be 10-20 degrees more than that max, if your at 80+ hotspot you need to look at the mount and be sure the whole die is fully covered in a even spread of past, never miss any of the die.

vrm's and memory should be running pretty good tbh, ram you should see in the region of 50-60 degrees and vrm's should be around that perhaps a tab warmer but dont be suprised if they are lower

Have 3080fe all the temp readings can be read in HWMonitor

GPU temp, hotspot and memory , doesn't give vrm readings

That hotspot is within spec but seems high for water cooled , on stock cooler I max out 77c on GPU with hotspot being around 12c higher and vram in the 80s

Hotspot generally should be around 10-15c higher then gpu temp that's with air cooling I would imagine that should be lower with water cooling

In MSFS GPU temp is 57.3c
Hotspot is 78.3c
and memory is 64c
Time for a disassembly, clean and repaste I think:(:(

I have that Corsair waterblock for the 3080FE, mounted 3 times and had a hotspot delta of 15C initially which increases to 20C over a few months. Tried a different paste with last mount to no improvement so for me I think it's just not a great block, perhaps screws aren't up to the task.

a good freind of mine ventured into custom loop cooling with his amd 5900x and 3080 fe setup, used corsair's full loop kit, tbh its a good starter kit but temps were a bit higher if i'm being honest compared to a ek or other brand setup, it worked just ran a bit hotter. i'd still check the gpu mount as almost 60 under water is warm tbh
