GPU Issue or Windows

Ive got an issue with my gpu or system, every time I boot the PC after I have logged into windows one of my monitors turns red. Its fine for 5 or so seconds then goes as image. I've swapped over the monitors and it does it on both but if I change the scale of the screen to anything other than 100% it resets it.

I'm assuming its software but I tried everything I can think of, windows updates, rolled back updates. Cleared Nvidia drivers and reinstalled multiple times.

Please has anyone got any Idea's , next step is fresh windows install.

Gigabyte 970
AMD 2600
16gb ram
Windows 10

I've just had a quick Google and people have reported a red tint on screen... Try this below

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Choose System.
  3. Under the Display section, click “Night Light settings“.
  4. Under “Color temperature at night“, move the slider to the right to reduce the red tint effect.

Cool, not seen that so will give it a go later. Many thanks :)

Right I messed about with the pc loads and suddenly it was ok, a week of no issues then its started again.

This is video of what its doing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=588rnU3ASuQ&feature=youtu.be

When I move the GPU into the second PCI slot its fine, move it back into the first and it does it again.

I borrowed a 1050ti and it was fine over a few days in both slots

Put my gpu back in and it played up again for a few hours while I was messing with safe mode ect and now its fine again.

The way it looks fine then changes seem to be a windows issue but the 1050ti was fine, i've uninstalled drivers with ddu a few times with no effect.

Thinking a full windows reinstall with bios reset and if that doesn't sort it buy a new gpu, the fact my gpu is fine in the 2nd pci slot though worries me and I'm wondering if its motherboard ?

Any help or thoughts on this would be REALLY appreciated :(

I dont see how it would be the motherboard considering that it is fine for a different GPU in both slots. Added to that, the motherboard doesn't really have a pin for red, blue green etc ... so its not like a failling pin for a particular colour if you know what i mean.

On the card what outputs do you have ? multiple display ports ? What happens if you swap the port used when its showing the problem. Does the red screen follow the port change ?

Using DVI's, when I swap them over it follows onto the other monitor. I could try a hdmi connection next time it happens disconnecting the affected port. Thanks :)

My gut feeling says its a GPU issue, but try and narrow it down to a particular port may be the next step to get more information around it.
