So recently I have noticed that whilst playing games, it doesn't seem to be related to a specific game, that after a few minutes the PC will just freeze. I have noticed that sound from background programs does still seem to be playing when this happens, however I can't do anything other than pressing the power/reset buttons to start up again.
The real problem comes when restarting the PC. It often boots up with a black screen, I can hear the windows load up sound so I think it is getting to the desktop but there is no way to be sure. It can take multiple tries to actually get anything to show at times. I have tried resetting the BIOS and removed any overclock as well as updating graphics drivers in case of any issues there. I have had a thorough clean out recently as well but that didn't seem to make any difference.
The only way I seem to get my screen back is by plugging straight into the motherboard. This leads me to believe it must be a GPU fault. Is there any way to try and solve this or is it going to mean a new card?
