GPU max temps?

Hey guys,

Today put my 4070ti S through its paces with some Path Of Exile 2 for a solid couple of hours…

Now, I see my peak temps were hitting as high as 81-82c, and the fan speed only went to 50% speed..

Are those temps ok? Or should I be in afterburner and adjusting the GPU fan curve?

Seems a bit warm, which card model and case do you have?

Yeah, I thought that.

I have the Zotac 4070ti Super SOLID card, running in a NZXT H7 FLOW case, there is plenty of airflow so I’m a little baffled.

Does that card have dual BIOS? If so, are you using the quiet BIOS?

Try the OC BIOS if that card has one.

one thing, if i set a fan curve on AB that will take off the 0rmp on the GPU right?

Each manufacturer is different. Some allow you to set 0rpm, some limit you to 30% and some just ignore a low level setting. I think the important thing is that it doesn't matter. Whatever happens, you won't hear it at 30%.

Just do a very simple fan control. Off (or 30%) to 40 degrees. 30% at 41 degrees. 100% at 80 degrees. See what that's like and then tweak it. Find an acceptable balance between performance and noise.

Yeah, I have managed to set it to zero fan usage until 35c , and done a fan curve, like you said, will test out and tweak until I’m happy with gaming temps.

Having trouble setting the fan curve for the gpu on afterburner.

Under max load it’s peaking at around 81c, but averages around mid 70’s under full load.

Are these “safe” temps to operate on?

What gpu is it? What you really want to pay attention to is the hot spot temp. Which is usually 10 c higher than the GPU temp. What you are trying to do is find the right balance between temps and fan noise levels. so on mine I have it set to 0-50c =0% fan speed. Then when it hits 50c it kicks in about 44%. And that way it remains fairly quiet and fairly cool.

Wait just reread your post and realised you posted before saying you had a 4070ti super. Have you tried power limiting your card to like 80-90% you wont lose a great deal of performance.
