GPU measurements

Hi everyone

I have got a ex works computer, a dell optiplex 330 tower. As it is a work based PC, the room is highly limited. And the PSU is the generic Dell 305w one.

The specs say a I can fit a Single slot gpu, and it can be up to 4.2inches X 9 inches. I have found some dimensions for the ATI 4670, (PSU has no power cable for GPU) which says 11.1cm x 16.8cm (4.37In X 6.61in)

I have measured and cut a piece of card, 11.8 x 17.0, and it may be a bit tight when fitting, (the corner may catch on case when fitting) but it only sticks up a couple of mm higher than the Audigy 4 S/C.

Will the dimensions be from the bottom of the metal connector plate on the back? Will they include the pins?

Also, will I need a better psu, and if so, any ideas for a cheapy one. If I get a decent PSU, I want a decent GPU. That will mean with a cooler, which will mean more space, so new case, and Mobo, and Ram and a kicking from the wife....

you might as well use that computer for non-intensive tasks like its designed, and if you want to do more you'll need to go all the way (new case, mobo, the works)

However, the PSU will be fine, dell PSU's are seriously underated, I have a dual 830D (a power hungry CPU) Dell ex work machine, with 2 HDD's and DVD burner and a 8000GT that runs just fine.
Check the ampage per rail and you will see that it will run it no probs

The original idea was for me to keep it for a while, serveral months, and use it. Then give it to the other half, and build something when I was out of the new job worry zone.

I only play BF2 and other games like that. I just got COH. How up-to-date am I
