Good afternoon,
I must have bought my Overclockers built desktop just under 7 years ago, it's served me extremely well ever since and have never really had any issues operating any of the programs/games I've played (although I don't really play AAA games), it still runs very well today.
The specification is:
i7 950 3.06Ghz
ASUS P6X58D-E Motherboard
6GB DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD
AMD 6800 series GPU
650W Power Supply
I'm wanting to upgrade the GPU to either the GTX 1050ti/GTX 1060 so that I can utilise the PC on a 4k monitor/tv at 60hz (I only get 30hz at the moment) and I'm also wanting to stick more ram into the PC to make general operation faster, thinking of going from 6GB (3x2GB) to 24GB (6x4GB Corsair Vengeance triple channel DDR3).
Do you think the upgrades I've suggested will be compatible with my motherboard and will my set up cope with these upgrades for what I'm wanting to achieve, I will primarily be utilising the PC for large file photo editing/occasional gaming (FSX & Online MMORPGs).
I look forward to hearing back fro everyone.
Josh
