I'd like to see how close I am to running out of GFX memory. I'm currently running a 4870 512Mb at 1680x1050 but want to mess about on my TV at 1920x1080. I'm concerned that the VRAM may be an issue here but I want to find out for sure.

Any pieces of software measure this (and ideally save a log/graph)?
 
Ach, I found out how to do it using RivaTuner (which I was using to monitor temps, fan speed and activity anyway) by activating the Video mem plugin in the customise/setup menu.

However, it doesn't work in Vista due to 'the way Vista allocates system memory). I'm running Windows 7 so I assume this is the same. I'll have to try again in XP.
