Hi, I've got a question about the gpu's memory. I mostly play mmorpg games and looking forward to the relaunch of FF14 and Guild Wars 2.

E.g: GTX 560ti 1GB and GTX 560ti 2GB. Will the extra 1GB ram increase performance by a significant amount when running these games with huge cities, sceneries and huge boss fights and stuffs like that?

Cheers ! :D

It depends. If you only run a single instance then you would hardly see any significant amount of performance increase. However if you like to run multiple instances concurrently then the extra vram may count. An example would be trying to start dual-instance of WoW DX11 8AA on 1GB cards vs 2GB cards. The 1GB cards would dip to single-digit fps among crowded people.

I recommend you to first of all identify the max vram usage of the games you play, with a single instance. If it already approaches 1GB then there is a great chance that dual-instance will suffer on 1GB cards.
