GPU / Mobo Compatibility Question

So I just bought a barebones bundle with an e6750, 2 GBs of DDR2 800, 530watt Crossfire certified psu and an MSI G33 mobo.

Not the best mobo but the bundle was cheap as, so I went for it. Thing is, it only has 1 PCIe x16 slot so I was wondering, if I bought a 9800 GTX or a 3870x2 next year, would I see a significant performance hit over a PCIe 2.0 mobo?

I don't really wanna have to upgrade the mobo anytime soon, unless I absolutely have to. I was thinking ideally I would upgrade my board the generation of GPUs after that but no sooner. So what do you guys think? Will they run ok on a PCIe 1.0 mobo?

Should be fine, 16x is still plenty fast enough, PCIE2 also allows more POWAh to go via the PCI slot so you would probably have to conect theexternal power adapter like we all do now.

(even though my 8800 is supposedly PCIE2, how the **** they get away with that I will never know)
