help me! help me!

i recently got another gtx 275
so ive got 2, i'm sure you know what they look like

well, ive got them working in sli, not really seeing much fps difference but it says its all working in the game with the nvidia indicator

but when i play say team fortress 2 for about an hour it will freeze up and i try ctrl + alt + del and nothing, so...

I open up my case and check it, the top graphics card under neith it is pretty hot compared to the bottom one, but then! I feel the heat sink on my mother board and OMG! it so hot it hurt my thinger

this must be the problem then...

my case, i have a good cpu fan, and 2 normal fans umm you know the normal size.. 1 on the front sucking in and blowing in to the case, and one at the back above the graphics cards blowing out of the case.

i have a spare smaller fan, and a fan off an old geforce 6000 series, it is pretty small with a heat transfer and fan small and thin

so the main verdict

how can i prevent this over heating, and why is my motherboards heat transfer thing so hot, (it is between the graphics cards).

I would be really thankful if some of you actually read this. Thanks :)
ask any questions, also the mother board is from about 2007 and is made by asus, (M2N-E SLI) its even designed for sli...

also the cards arnt over clocked and my room is cool

1) Don't use fingers.
2) High end graphics cards are normally very hot
3) Packing multiple cards together makes them even hotter.
4) Heatsinks are there BECAUSE things get hot

Download something like HWmonitor download link and find out what the temperatures are.

I already have man, don't treat me like a noob.. i didn't use my fingers while the computer was on..

the temperatures are 50c (while not gaming). i know this is normal if not lower than other people's, but why else must it be freezing on games? and the heat sink so hot

do you think it's because i need 2 sli bridges? And not 1, just to confirm its only 2 cards

but thanks for your comment..

50 degrees is normal when idling. What does it get up to while gaming?

I fiddle about with my computer on, I'm not meaning that, I'm meaning judging temps with fingers isn't reliable.

No you only need one bridge.

oh ok, but so do you think you know why its crashing, basically on a game it will freeze, then sometimes even when i restart my pc, login and it crashes again with a light blue screen, this is to do with the graphics cards

so hm, any suggestions? infact i know it is to do with the heatness, it must be, i had to wait for the heat sink to cool and then it started working again

I've had a look at the board and yes the heatsink is in a lousy position: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/M2NE_SLI/

With two double slot cards like the GTX 275 over it there's not likely to be much airflow.

You could still make sure it's the temperature by using HWmonitor while you're gaming.

Not just the graphics card but higher up there is one called SYSTIN as you can see here:

There is the other possibility that the PSU isn't powerful enough.

Finally, if you really aren't seeing much difference in TF2 (honestly one GTX 275 is easily enough for TF2) and it was perfectly stable before, go back to one card or sell both for an upgrade to one faster card.
