GPU & Monitor Upgrade

Hi, I am thinking about upgrading my GPU and monitor soon, I want a 27" LED monitor and so was just wondering what GPU would be required to run modern/upcoming games 'comfortably' at high/max settings on a 27" screen? Are there any single cards that can do this or am I looking at an SLI/CrossFire setup for that? Thanks.

The rest of my computer comprises of:

Core i5-2500k
Gigabyte P67A-UD4 motherboard
4GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHz memory (will probably buy another 8GB and upgrade to 12GB total)
Corsair TX650W V2 power supply
Currently have a GTX 260 896MB graphics card

Most of the 27" screens are the same resolution as a 24" (1920 x 1080) unless you spend over £400 for a high quality one with a IPS panel.

This just means the pixels are a bit bigger so the image isnt as sharp.

A GTX570/GTX560ti 2GB for example will play games fine at that resolution.

What budget do you have for both?

I would get a maximum of a 24" at 1080p resolution due to what stulid says. The pixels are slightly bigger and it would noticeable to me.

Regarding graphics card it depends on the budget. As you were looking at a 27" monitor I guess it's a fairly decent budget.

£100 - HD 6850 or GTX 460
£150 - HD 6870
£200 - HD 6950 or GTX 560ti
£250 - HD 6970 or GTX 570
£300 - nothing really to recommend at present
£350 - HD 7950
£400 - HD 7970

That would be my recommendation based on current prices but bear in mind that Nvidia are releasing their new cards (soon?!) and the 78** series of AMD cards are due out some time this month hopefully so that could shake the price/performance recommendations completely.
