Ok guy's i reformatted my pc recently and installed up to date drivers and up to date afterburner. And for the life of me i cant get my previous stable GPU overclock stable anymore...

I have the same settings as before voltages etc in afterburner and a game that never used to crash before on old overclock is causing a DVI imput error on my monitor now, showing overclock instability... Strangley it can run loop after loop of vantage and heven without a hitch...

All I'm doing now is running benchmark after benchmark stress tests etc and its driving me insane not being able to reach my old OC.... Can my GPU have been degredated somehow? Any advice and reasurance would be welcome.

See my sig for specs running latest nvidia drivers

Could be the previous drivers you had allowed you to overclock better. some driver updates mess up stable overclocks that you had previously. You just have to find the stable overclock under the new drivers.

Mate it is frustrating not holding overclocks im gone on a stress testing OCD mode... Strangly the game its unstable on is old and doesnt stress the GPU out at all... Its the original Witcher wanted to play through the series before i played through the new one... Damn overclock had to be unstable

Have you recently updated the drivers? The reason I ask is the last stable driver (until I read forums I thought it was a bad overclock) for me is 350.12. No matter what I would do with drivers after that they would crash overclock or not.

Driver issue almost certainly. Difficult to reach same GPU overclock on 350+ Drivers compared to previous releases.

Maybe it's because of the warm weather? a lot of previously stable overclocks will start to fall flat on their face in the coming weeks.

There is this ^

But also to note 353.06 and 353.12 are not recommended drivers as they are having widespread issues

Well I'm on 350.12 and it's fine. No crashes at all.

This.

New drivers 352 n 353 would not hold anything for me.

350 I can happily run GTA at 1500 for hours without a crash (well apart from my other issue) and Fire Strike at 1530... new drivers can't even manage 1450...

All my good bench marks were on 348 however.

Driver stability on Nvidia drivers is awful at the moment.... truly awful for me anyway.

i cant even run my card in stock with the newer drivers without a crash lol. its only the display driver and all it does for me when it crashes is display the little windows warning on my taskbar. the computer doesnt crash or anything its just the driver for me.
