ok guys, this is what I'm getting with the GPU folding client,

is this normal? I was expecting output like the other clients but it doesn't seem to give me anything!

You should be seeing something  that's the 0.07 core so it should be reporting.

Have you checked to see if it's actually doing anything (i.e. do you have higher temps on the gfx card? is it using resources in task manager?).

Is this running as a service - if so it won't work?
yes it is,

how can I check the temp? what progs let me do that (got omega drivers (6.5 cat based) installed atm)

fahcore_10 is using about 50% (ie 1 core) but the GPU doesn't seem to heat up at all (ATI Tray tools showing 44c stable with and without service running)

Exit the client and create a shortcut for it. Inside the shortcut file in the Target field add to the end [after the last " mark] -configonly

Save the changes then run the shortcut. Now go through the config and when it asks if it should uninstall the service, say Yes.

The client does NOT work as a service. Once you have gone through the rest of the config the window will close. Now just double click the original client .exe and it should start working.

Remember if you restart your PC for whatever reason, you will have to remember to restart the client. The same goes if you play a game, it will automatically get switched off.

ok done, seems to be working now!

lol, PC keeps lagging out! wonder whats causing that!

any way to run this without the dos box open?

hmm
issue is, this is mums PC
shes not one for having things running that she doesn't recognise, also this lag that happens every 5-10 seconds or so is going to **** her off.
having spent £1k on a new PC, she wants it FAST!

I'm afraid lag is part of the happenning with the GPU client, and it's going to run visible.

If you want it to run hidden you have to run a service based client and that is a CPU one, not GPU. Even then, I'm seeing instances of lag when both cores of the CPU E6600 are going flat out. Throttling the second one to 90% seems to have solved that.

NB my PC is only clocked to 2.6GHz at present, so it may be that someat is wrong with the rig?

Is it just Core 2 Duo rigs that are suffering from lag? When I first ran my GPU client I still had both my CPU clients running and I never suffered from any lag, I don't now either.

heh, did you rip your mum off by specing her a machine with an X1900?
maybe a bit
but she said she wanted the "best" so I got her the best.
was tempted to spec a E6600 but it didn't stretch that far!

only 2.6?
my 6300 does 3.15 easily, whats up with yours?

anyone know if there could be a way to run the GPU client just between set hours? back in Win98 I'd of used task manager to set up a schedule but I don't know what to do now!
I'd have to be able to turn the 2nd folding client off too (ie close the service)

Mine too :p - at stock volts (bloody RAM is holding it back). When I get faster RAM, I'm hoping for 3.5 or more. C'mon man - push it a bit ;)

Stan :)
I just don't know why it won't do 3.16! 3.15 no issues, stock volts etc all good
3.16 just will not work! windows will not boot, rams fine, more volts doesn't help!
dunno, have to think harder later

I blame OcUK, after all I bought it as a set kit :p - ASUS PW5 DH Delux MB, with E6600 & Corsair DDR2 6400 RAM. I'm suspicious of the board - It don't detect the RAM correctly - most of the time on boot it decides its PC 3200 or oddly sometime PC5300 (what on earth is that!), the on board sound dont work properly on 4 or 6 speakers either - 2 or 8 speakers is fine. Updated the BIOS and all drivers so it might be an RMA soon :(

Mine will do 460x7=3220 but any higher than that, I get the RAM beeps from the bios when booting (I've tried shoving silly volts through it and slackening off the timings - to no avail).

I will get some faster RAM as I'm sure this chip will go much further :D
