GPU on the way out?

Why do you need to take everything out?!

Just unplug it all and be nifty. If that fails, do it my way and go all ghetto on it :D

Also, 850 modular FTW.

If you want to save some cash and still get a great PSU, take a look at Silverstone :)

Because I'm pretty sure my 8 Pin runs behind my Mobo... Or at least one of the fan connectors do.... To be fair, there's quite a bit of dust in my case...

Also realised this morning, I probably shouldn't be running half my PC off of an ailing PSU...

Ok... WHAT THE HELL.... Just plugged the HX back in to the GPU. Figured I'd try it one more time.

Load up Heaven. Run.... Runs fine.... o.O Maxed out the settings.... Runs fine o.O

I'M SO CONFUSED...

Going go try Anno again, as that's what broke it last time, and I'll see..

Edit:
Ok, I'm now even more confused... I tried Anno... Worked fine... Thought hmm, how odd... I Dl'd Furmark. 15 Minute Burn in test later, and the biggest casualty is my head, which has an absolutely stonking headache. The computer however is running happily, as if nothing has happened....

Maybe it is the graphics card then rather than the PSU. Tough one to call as it now seems fine with both the original offending parts. Do you have a spare card to test the PCIE cables on in your HX?

Hmm, unfortunately not. However I did pull the PSU out and wiggle it around earlier, so I'm putting it down to being some kind of weirdy cable issue for now.

Ok, so I'm back to mind blown.....

As I said, I ran Furmark happily earlier with no issues what so ever. Now I've just been playing Anno, and it's been happily running the game (game open and maxed out) for the last 8 hours....

Just closed the game however and as it went to load Windows desktop, the GPU fan powered down and the PC screens went black. Went to try and reboot and had the same issue of motherboard not recognising the GPU.

My mind is well and truly stumped...
