GPU or game problem - Large graphical "spikes"

Hey guys,

I am having some problems with Pillars of Eternity right now. I have reinstalled it 3 times now and rolled back my Nvidia drivers (clean install) and its still happening.

Its an old GTX280 im using while i wait for the new AMD cards to be released.....

The screenshot doesn't show how "noisy" it is, the whole area around my character is full of big spikes shooting out. Its was fine yesterday and now today its all messed up.

Does this look like a GPU problem or game problem?

It does sound like a video card problem, I have had the same thing in the past. But got to be worth trying another game or perhaps 3DMARK to confirm.

I ran furmark and it maxed my GPU out for maybe 5 minutes with no problems. Hit 86c.
