Am pondering and would appreciate your input:-

Running a 470 @ 480 speed and have had zero issues(excepting crysis 2) powering a 1920 x 1200 monitor in games.
Crysis 2 did get a little jittery when running dx11 and 'pretty' graphics.- not unplayable but...
Am just tempted by a 670 @ about £300 as I have not changed gpu for over a year ( which is unusual for me :o).
However do not consider that such is an essential upgrade at the moment - am I wrong? Better gpu in same price range?
(btw will not be changing monitors in the near future).

If I do not go the change of gpu route was considering changing cpu from i2500k to i2600k/i2700 k but as I use the comp. mainly for games / internet browsing / watching tv this does same a waste of time - Agreed?

If I do neither of the above am thinking of an OCZ Agility 240 gb SSD -( am already running a vertex 3 120gb as boot + a few games , which I would keep ) to replace the 750gb wd black as the main storage. I assume that the two Ocz drives will play together? This 'upgrade' would I think give me the best speed boost and lower the noise (do like quiet!) and at £140...
Any reservations?

I would say unless you want to play crysis 2 on high graphics that you dont need to upgrade anything :)

You won't notice a CPU upgrade from 2500k to 2600k for your usage. I've got some games on a 120GB SSD and some on a 1TB 7200rpm and, to be honest, I'm hard pushed to tell the difference when loading a game - it's nowhere near as noticeable as having the OS on an SSD.

You could upgrade your GPU, if you really have to scratch the upgrade itch, but by the sound of it you would only see the benefit in one game. Cost/benefit ratio not good - but only you can say if it's good enough for your wallet.

Have you considered building an HTPC as a way to scratch the upgrade itch? Hardware to purchase, software to configure, headaches to get things working (blu-ray playback always seems to break on mine every few months) - great way to spend some time and money. :)

as said a lot above you wouldnt notice the cpu difference if you have an ssd there no point and if your gpu holding out i wouldnt bother just for 1 game as @Confused Stu said look at making a htpc if the scratch is that bad

Sorry for the delay in responding - been away for a couple of days & no internet - even with the phone ! Useless o2 :(

Thanks for the posts ; confirmed what I thought i.e. best to leave it for now.

Itch has subsided a little..... and hopefully I can keep it in check unless the price of the 670 drops to £250 ;)

Good way to scratch an itch like that is new peripherals. Those things transfer between builds too.

Lol yeah I always do that. Buy new gaming mice, keyboards, monitors even but rarely change my actual rig. OP yeah I agree with the above comments, wait and see. However, a 670 might be nice:D
