Hi all,

i recently tried to overclock my 9600m gt using rivatuner, now after about 30 secs after i log on my comp freezes,

so i ran it in safe mode and deleted rivatuner and most if not all of its data. this still had no effect,

i then uninstalled my graphics drivers and all my nvidia software and still this is having no effect.

i also tried re-installing my drivers in safe mode but it fails at about 20%

im really stuck with what to do now, if anyone can help that would be muchly appreciated.

regards

josh

Surely rather than deleting the application the best idea would have been to use it to remove the overclock? I'd have thought uninstalling it would stop the overclock being applied, but it's possible your settings are stored on the card somewhere I suppose.

If your rig has on-board graphics of some kind it may be worth removing the graphics card and trying without it, just to confirm that's what the problem is.

Seems like the GPU didnt like the overclock at all.

Maybe you havent completely deleted all of the software, hence why its freezing, as phenom has stated, take out the card completely, not sure what windows you are using, but uninstall riva tuner correctly, then uninstall the nvidia drivers. Then attempt to boot up your PC correctly.

Hopefully it will boot up with out any issues, then download the correct nvidia drivers, shut down PC, install the GPU again, and try again.

Thats what i would do for now.

yeah i did all that an now its working again :) i was able to start it in safe mode for some reason.

now i have the problem of when its turning it on it wont come on the screen, it takes few tries and eventually works.

any ideas?

Hmmmmmmm could be a few things really, have you made sure that all connections are in place and tightened correctly. Check those first before doing anything else.
