Hi all,

First of all, I'm a complete novice when it comes to overclocking GPU's. I've been trying to apply an overclock to my GPU (in sig) and nothing appears to be happening. I've tried using GPU Tweak, MSI Afterburner, and CCC.

Whenever I run a benchmark on Valley, nothing appears to be changing. The score at the end is the same as before the overclock was applied and the temps never seem to increase. The stats in the top-right corner of Valley still say that the GPU is running at 970MHz and the memory is 1600Mhz. I've checked with MSI Afterburner and the GPU runs at 100% so there isn't any throttling (I don't think!)

Any suggestions/help!?

Cheers!

download gpu-z, does it show your overclock a the bottom against stock ?
If yes click on the ? to start the gpuz benchmark and switch to the 2nd tab. Does it show your gpu running at overclock settings or stock settings ?

Appears to be working now. I have a funny feeling that I had kept MSI Afterburner running to monitor the CPU and it was causing the overclock from GPU Tweak to not work.

Is there any way to run only the monitoring part of Afterburner, or does the OC part have to run as well?

Thanks for the input!

There is an option within the general tab of MSI AB to turn off hardware control. Though TBH afterburner is more than capable of handling everything you need.

Don't think I'll bother with the OC unless I'm doing something wrong. I was getting worse results in Valley and Firestrike with the OC as opposed to no OC.

Getting a hefty tax return in the next couple of weeks so might go for an upgrade! :D
