Hi all,

So ive been out of the PC loop for a few years and went to console gaming, i'm now looking at coming back to PC but i need to upgrade my rig. I have a 4K Screen with HDMI 2.1, my current specs are:

AMD 3600

X570 Mobo

RTX 3060ti 8GB

16 GB Ram DDR 4

Because i'm running at 4k native im looking at getting a 7800 XT 16GB and upgrading CPU to a 5700X, now i realise the 7800 XT is 1440p card but for 4K ive read its ok for 4K 60 FPS? Im aware i might get a bottleneck but do you think this will give me 4K 60 FPS in the majority of games?

Obviously to get the max benefit i need to spend more but my £ is around 7800 XT and 5700X levels. As i said ive been away from being a PC enthusiast for a few years so i'm a bit rusty to the current specs these days hence why i'm here :)

Thank you.

Ok thank you, im guessing when looking to hit 60 FPS at 4k the extra grunt from the GRE will make up for a slower CPU and the bottleneck wont be noticed so much for 60 FPS?

Ok, i understand, thanks for the advice i appreciate it. Im leaning towards the GRE because of the extra VRAM especially at 4K. I'm waiting till Friday for deals on GPUs and the 5700X, hopefully get something a tad cheaper
