I really wouldn't go for a 285 at that price. They are very overpriced. It's a shame you didn't ask last week, as there were a truckload of GTX280s going very cheap on this site, clearing old stock. One of those at £218 was a bargain!

To answer your questions; I game at 1920x1200, and a 4870X2 isn't a requirement, but it sure is nice. Enough to stick 4xAA and maximum detail on in Crysis, and maxes out everything else :)

A HX620 will be fine, but bear in mind you will need one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI-E plug.

That Corsair will be plenty enough. Some people are able to run it on the HX520, though it depends on how much other hardware there is too.

I had a GTX280, and this was more than sufficient for 1920*1200. When I got the 30"-er, I found that the GTX didn't have the power for 2560, so swapped it out for a 4870x2. That being said, I think that at 1920 I would prefer the GTX280.

yeah pretty guttered i missed the 280 deal that was on, had to wait to get paid

Ok well seeing as the 285 prices are pretty high and i have enough power with my current psu might as well go for the 4870 X2.

Cheers

Andy
