after messing about with cables in my rig last night I noticed an extra Molex connector on the board just below the cpu which I've previously ignored. After checking the manual, it suggests that this connector is to power the PCIE graphics card. Obviously, the gpu has it's own connector for power. Does anyone know whether both should be connected?

Yeah the molex connector on the board is for when your running 2x cards in SLi/Crossfire.
