Nvidia + AMD are making bank. They are limited by the chip production and they wish they could have more made.

The AIB partners are making bank. They are limited by the amount of chips that NV+AMD can supply to them.

The retailers are making bank. They are limited by the amount of chips the AIB partners can supply to them.

We , the consumers are getting the short end of the stick.


The head of TSMC, who make a lot of the chips, has theorized that someone somewhere is hoarding chips to artificially create a shortage and therefore drive up prices. He may be right but we just do not know. The mining idiocy is more to blame for most of the gpu drought, sooner that just gets outlawed the better.

Insert distributors into the mix for additional cut also.

The short end of the stick is indeed, very short, if you can grab any of it that is.

You missed out the distributors - retailers don't necessarily buy direct from the OEM.

Oh and the shippers, don't forget them too.
