GPU problem????

couple of days ago my psu went bang, got a new one yesterday and everything works ok, but just been running a few bench's and scores are well down 20-30% lower with same clocks that i have done in valley/FS ex.

Have removed drivers and afterburner and reinstalled with later versions and the results are the same.

GPU usage is at 99% so no problem there

motherboard possibly????

what do you think any ideas where i should be looking??

just ran firestrike same clocks as i used in the thread and got a gfx score of 7872, before i got 10006, wtf going on???

I believe the latest drivers go for smoothness over sheer speed. Try 12.11 with the cats again Nick and see if that improves scores.

think my original bench's were on the beta 4, tried beta 6&7 still the same. Its a massive drop whatever way you look at it, will give it a go though gregster. i'm wondering if the bang has corrupted the vga bios or something

just tried ln2 bios and no change, just going for dinner, will try the 12.11's when i get back

It doesn't make sense if the GPU is running at 99% but you are scoring lower. Check your processes also, to make sure you don't have anything untoward running.

I do feel something is affecting your score other than drivers or GPU fault.

Not sure what to recommend but deffo look at all running processes and any you don't know, google them.

Thx for your help G, i'm hoping it was that, also had to reinstall system info for futuremark, seems when psu blew its corrupted a few things, i may do a clean install of windows to be sure.

Are you on win8 if so what virus prog you using?

Nah, I am old school Windows 7. I use MSE and it runs nice and quiet in the background.

It never hurts to do a reinstall now and then and even better if you have a quick internet

I only just did an install when i got my rive, so about 3 weeks ago! Tempted to get another ssd and have 2 boot drives, one for everyday use and other with a streamlined windows just for benching.
