Hi guys yesterday I got r9 270 gigabyte windoforce 2nd hand very cheap. However I noticed that one of the fans is making weird noise, like it was rubbing against something or bearing is worn out. Any ideas on solution?
I tried to lower fan speed and increase it and at 65% it can be barely heard but card (fans gets louder as higher rpm) noisier.

When fans spin the fins spread out from the fan so something that misses the fan when moved manually can hit it when spinning high speed. So check for any cowling or cables near the fan and try and bend or move this away.

If there is no warranty left on it and it needs a new fan then you are looking at 3rd party coolers or possibly a suck it and see self mod.

It might also be worth removing any dust from the fans. If dust builds up unevenly it can unbalance the fan at high RPM.

The card was released in November 2013 so I believe it should have warranty if it is transferable.

Also the fan makes noise from 25% which is minimum speed that fan spins. When I increase speed eg 55% this noise becomes less audible. However this might be because fans become more loud.

I have cleaned the card before installing it was a little bit dirty but now it's clean. I used isopropyl alcohol wipes to clean them and replaced thermal paste too. BTW I didnt clean pcb just give it a blast with compressed air

With gigabyte i believe warranty is with the original owner only. Only evga allow transfer of the warranty to another person.

Okay thanks for that info.

So if I were to replace a cooler can I buy for example very cheap spare or repair card and replace the cooler. Im not sue what is pcb of this car reference or custom? Or maybe should I go buy new insted if so which one. Im quiet on tight budget as I dont want to pay more for a cooler than I paid for the card so max £30-40.
