So, somehow I got the mining trojan (yes yes i'm a nub I know)

I formatted the comp all fresh anyways but my question is this....

I have 3x 290's flashed to 290x running stock 1000/1250, if while gaming they are maxed out they have a small amount of coil whine.

Now when the mining thing was going on I didn't notice for an hour because there was no noise at all (I only noticed because my water temp went up to 40c and it normally doesn't go over 35c)

So why no whine?

Mining does not put the 290xs under the same load as gaming does. My 290x rarely averaged above 45% on an overclock when mining but maxes out in games when vsync is off.

So it's a 'different' kind of load

Afterburner showed all 3 at 97-100% all the time

Well its certainly a different 'kind' of load but i am surprised you manage to get it so high while mining. If i played with clocks i could get it to over 70/75% load but my work load would drop due to all the errors. Let me install CGminer and see if i still get low-ish loads.
