GPU Question re: DisplayPort -> HDMI

Here's one I can't seem to find an answer to using Google.

Currently no GPU's come with HDMI 2.0 output.

Most of them do come with at least one Display port though

Display Ports can be converted (passively) to HDMI with a cable.

According to Wikipedia:

DisplayPort 1.2 bandwidth is 21.6 Gbit/s (17.28 Gbit/s with overhead removed)
&
HDMI 2.0 bandwidth is 18 Gbit/s (14.4 Gbit/s with overhead removed)

DisplayPort therefore already carries more bandwidth than the HDMI 2.0 spec, so is there any reason you couldn't convert a displayport output to HDMI and run it in to a 4K TV with HDMI 2.0 at 60hz?

Displayport to Hdmi only supports hdmi 1.3, to even get hdmi 1.4 you need an active adapter, so for dp to Hdmi 2.0 you would need a hdmi2.0 active adaptor, which no one makes

I'm surprised no one has made one to be honest, but hdmi2.0 controllers are new and few and far between, so there's probably no money in it for them, I am guessing you might see them when people are actually buying hdmi 2.0 TV's in any appreciable numbers

Doesn't matter a huge deal to me at the moment since I only have a 1080p TV.

If I ever did upgrade to 4k, it would be nice to know my GPU was still compatible for 4k@60hz though.
