GPU Question

Hello,

I'm currently looking for a new GPU and was wondering if it's worth the wait for the 9xxx series, my budget is about £170-180, also does it look like the 9xxx series in my price range is gonna be worth the wait ? Or would i be happy with an 8800GT ?
I normally game at 1680x1050 without aa in game's like UT3, COD4, The Orange Box, Etc..
Also if i bought an 8800GT (i know there are no specs out yet) would if be able to play upcoming games like Alan wake and Far cry 2 ?

I'll get an 8800 GT then, i've been waiting long enough. Also just wondering if there's a guess at the release date of the 9800 GT(S) ?

You won't have any problem playing at that res with a GT. As for upcoming games - who can say? I think it's fair to say that you will be able to get good performance, but whether you will be able to play at full detail with constant smooth framerates who knows.

Id be happy as long as it could handle upcoming games smooth, i'm not to bothered about having to max out every game, I'd be happy to play at medium if it gives smooth gameplay.

Last question , should i buy the cheapest GT and OC it myself or buy a pre-clocked ?
