Hello OCUK Forum Members,

I hope to seek your advice on this one. Im planning a sizeable upgrade soon hopefully within the next 2 weeks ish. I'll be getting 3 new 120hz monitors and I was just trying to work out what card would be best to power them all. Note that I may not always use eyefinity/surround for gaming. May just game in the middle screen for games like SC2 etc but maybe abit of 3 screen gaming for BF3 MW3 etc.

Will a 590 or a 6990 be able to power them all properly? not necessarily maxed but to a good level?

Or should i just keep eating the patience porridge and wait for the new cards to arrive? Everything will be under water hopefully. I've tried googling for recommendations on cards but I cant seem to find anything definitive.

Hope you guys can hep me
Sam

6970 xfire

or

580SLI but you would want the 3GB version which are more expensive.

I would, however, 'struggle' with your 5970 for a bit longer as the new generation of cards are going to be a fair bit better I believe.

A pair of these would be the best solution as it stands for that resolution but it depends if you can dump over £800 on a GPU setup :D

Other than that I would suggest 570SLI 2.5gb version (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-150-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1010)
or xfire 6970

I still say wait for next gen, no point in getting current gen now with the card you've currently got imo.

2 x 6950 2GB 2-way CF
2 x 580 3GB 2-way SLI
6990 + 6970 3-way CF
2 x 6990 4-way CF
3 x 580 3GB 3-way SLI
4 x 580 3GB 3-way SLI

Just make sure you stay away from anything with less than 2GB vram per GPU, such like the GTX590 or any GTX580 1.5GB. Also stay away from the ASUS Mars II because it's also 1.5GB vram per GPU.

If you already have a 5970 then I think it'd be a fairly expensive move for not so much reward... Better to wait it out a bit more but hey, your money...

2 x 580's would be a beast of a GPU system and provide the kind of power you need for 3 x 120hz screens.

Like others have said the 3Gb version is where you want to go with the 580's. At that high resolution (5760 x 1080, 1080 is the highest res 27" 120hz available) with AA enabled will gobble up VRAM for fun.
