GPU recommendation pls.

Main question will be what's your budget?

The 2070S is a cracking card if that's the top end of your budget

What resolution and quality settings?

Is pubg still broken surprised anyone has the patience for it I got 80hrs or so and gave up .

Yea, the game plays ok but my card gives 60fps and can drop during intense battles. I have a new 144hz monitor. I play medium to low settings.
Budget wise I dont really want to go over £6-700.

Didn't mention before but I'm using an Asus X99 MB, with an i7 5820k and Team 32gb 2400Mhz.

Thanks
S

i'd opt for a 5700xt, its a great card and sits bang in the middle of the 2060/2070 performance wise and costs under £400, if you have a freesync moniter to boot it'll be a great combo

Hey Minibiker...is the same Minibiker in PUBG?

Cheers mate but my monitor is G sync. I'm assuming that it would be incompatible.

Indeed, my pubg name is Minibiker :)

If your using Gsync then stick to Nvidia GPU, the GIGABYTE 2080 super is just over your budget at £750... If 6-700 is tops then 2070S for sure

I think a 2070S will be the best choice, I'd be more worried about the 5820k preventing you from keeping a stable 144 fps. A 2080 Super is really more advantageous at 4K vs a 2070 Super, but even then its worth is questionable (for the price).

Hi

No I haven't overclocked the CPU. Been at stock all the time. You reckon that would wack up the fps?.

I suppose the question is now, get the 2070S immediately or wait for the release of the new cards in 2020 to see if that has an affect on pricing of the older cards.

Cheers

Isn’t pubg really cpu dependant, clock it for 4.5ghz and see what happens, wouldn’t have thought a 970 on med to low would get worse than 60 FPS. But then from memory it’s not the best game in terms of utilising hardware.

you raise a very good point, nvidia are supost to bring out ampere in the q1 of 2020, it may be worrth holding off until then as something new may land which will be more power effecent and just as fast or better than current offerings, plus if the next gen are too much look at the 2070s as its price along with all rtx cards will likley drop.

choice is always yours, i've got a 2080ti but if next gen stuff looks good and offers more then i'm swapping mt 2080ti for a next gen bad boy, time will tell
