Beginning to get on my nips now.

Machine:
Intel Q8200 2.33Ghz no OC
2Gb DDR2 800 Ram
Foxconn G45M-S Motherboard
XFX GT240 512Mb (GDDR5 Version) no OC with latest Nvidia Drivers, tried multiple versions
530W Hiper PSU

Some graphically demanding games after 20-30 mins of play will just suddenly freeze and i will get booted back to windows desktop saying that the drivers have recovered the GPU.

Is my GPU on its way out?

have you tried GPU-z to monitor the temps? you could also use afterburner to increase the fan speed a little if temps are high, not sure exactly what sort of temps are too high but my GTX260 was fine around 70'c iirc
