Hey guy's just got a second 970 and when i went to install it noticed a large amount of sag on the top card pic below

I know sag is a slightly common thing is it anything i should be concerned about?

I was thinking of going to the lego shop and making a brace for each card from well lego and lego builder men to hold them at the top :L

Would this be wise?

Id have thought the backplate would have prevented the card from saging the bottom card looks straight could perhaps try that in the top slot as a sagging card would look less noticeable at the bottom.

Or perhaps try and tighten the slack on your power cables to the GPU to try and lift it up.

Just a few suggestion's perhaps there is a more tech savvy fix from someone else :D

But from the picture I can't really notice it perhaps the wrong angle was used to evidence what you are saying or I have bad eye's.

THE DRESS IS WHITE AND GOLD

I noticed that myself however with the position of the case id need to fully power down to get a good look so will do that shortly.

The top card was bought second hand ( 2 months old from the members market )
The bottom card is new today.

I take it couldn't be damage from its months away from me ? i thought it was something to do with the pci slot and yea i thought the same about the back plate but the strix cards are unusually big compared to what ive seen before.

EDIT will try some tension on the cables as you said and may include a zip tie to hold the cable to a tie down

Use your power cables to hoist the gpus up as much as they can then add a black thread of cotton (wound twice over) to the power cables and tied off tight to the top of the case (around a screw would be good - mines wound off on a rad screw). You'll need to lie your case down and take the weight off when you tie the thread to the top of the case so that when it hangs it's like a guitar string and not loose (which does nothing).

Works a treat here, practically unnoticeable, and costs nothing :)

It would have helped if you had took a straight picture ! :p

As i said before the system is in a funny position so needed to be fully undone to take a pic

here are some more pics now that the cables have been pulled taught

There is still some flex however i think it's greatly improved.

What do you guys think?

Dont know but from the bottom pic looks like the back plate is not on straight rather than sag. Look at the gap between backplate and card on the right of the pic then look at the distance between backplate and card in the middle. The distance in the middle is greater than on the right.

Almost as though the left hand end where the PCI bracket is somethings not fitting right. Just doesnt look right on the left of the picture at all.
