Hello everyone, have ordered this system and will be adding a gpu down the line. Could you give me some suggestions bearing in mind it must be compatible with the below specs, Thanks!

Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower Case
Intel Core i3 2120 3.30GHz
Intel Stock Cooler
Asus P8H61-M
Kingston HyperX Genesis 4GB 1600MHz
Seagate Baracuda 500GB SATA
OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter
OCZ ZS Series 550W 80 Plus PSU
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
Fully Cable Managed

I want to play games on high @1920x1080. Skyrim, BF3, Diablo III and the total war series would be my main games.

A range of prices would be cool too, just so i have added choice :)
£50ish
£100ish
£150ish
£200ish
£250ish

And take into account my cpu, wouldnt want a bottleneck!

I'm guessing an AMD 7850/nVidia 670 would be more than enough..

But remember: games are demanding GPU as well as CPU, so maybe you couldn't run all games at max settings on the months/years to come... ;)

Best regards.. :)

I've notice a bottleneck with in my old system which runs the same CPU and a 6970. Games which ran fine with that graphics card on my 2500k now end up becoming sluggish at times :(

Hmmmm, ok. Thanks for the replys.
Would i be able to upgrade to the i5 2500k down the line? Based on my setup, i have no idea about compatability issues, this will be my first gaming pc lol

Yep, buy an I5/I7 and pop it straight in :) easy upgrade and cheap @ £150 for an I5.

Get a 7850, see how it plays in games and then decide if it is struggling at all is the best advice. If it feels sluggish, get a I5 and this will give the 7850 the required boost.

Tbh, i think i'll grab the 6970 within the month. The i3 prob will struggle to keep up, but my upgrade to the i5 2500k wont be long after =)

I don't know about Skyrim/BF3 but Diablo III is mostly GPU dependant and the CPU is largely irrelevant above a certain level, going from an i3 to an i5 2500k will not make any noticeable difference for D3. In benchmarks a 2500k OC'd to 4 GHz only had a 10 FPS lead over the Phenom II X2 at 1080p with everything on maximum.

Really? Thanks for bringing that to my attention bud. Looks like the i3 is good enough. Mehhhh, i dont know what gpu to get. I'll just have to do a lot of research.
