GPU stopping boot

Hey guys. I've just built a new rig. Here's what's new:
i7 3770k
asus sabertooth z77
ddr3 8gb 1866mhz

And here's what I used from my old rig:
power supply
hard drives
graphics card

Today I just won the long and hard battle of installing windows. New drivers have been installed from mobo CD. I've been forced to run it from the onboard graphics, however, as the gpu is preventing POST. There's a lovely red light next to the SB heatsink when I try.

Any ideas guys? I'm thinking it may be the gpu drivers? If so, how do I roll them back using my new rig?

Thanks for reading and any help would greatly be appreciated.
Juan

if your using onboard you should be able to uninstall your current gfx card drivers, then install whichever version you want.

what does the manual say about the light next to the sb heatsink ?

as per chris, are all the power connectors into the mobo/gfx card, what gfx card/psu are you using.

It's nothing to do with drivers if it won't even get past the POST.

Have you fitted any power cables the graphics card needs?

Edit:

Which LED?

Chris-.-: cpu power plugged in, using 800W power supply. ive already installed windows so its nothing that I already have, it must be the GPU.

Surveyor: boot device led. unfortunately theres not a lot of information that I found regarding the leds, hence why I came here. But I'm confused as to why it would be boot device, because without the gpu it boots fine. the only things i change is install gpu, add its two power connectors, then the hdmi port at the back.

thanks for the replies guys

Just fixed it guys. Set the option in the bios so that the default display output is always the iGPU. I have no idea why this would prevent boot but nvm, it worked :)

Thanks a lot for all your help guys, MUCHOS appreciated!!
