Has anyone else noticed a bump in temperature when ruining at 120Hz over 60Hz?

I run Sli and just overclocked my monitor to 100Hz as i don't normally incase it goes bang but i just noticed GPU1 is 10c above GPU2

Normally they are the same about 65c tops in BF3 but now at 100Hx the card with the monitor cable is hitting 75c.

You're working the cards harder to hit that FPS, they're gonna heat up more. :)

My cards hit 59 & 54 BF3 @ 120FPS/120Hz, they'd probably sit at 49-45 @ 60fps/60hz.

Like the above says really, the more work the more heat :) With 680's though anything upto ~82 degrees is absolutely fine. Mine maxes at 81 degrees (reference cooler) :)

I see what you guys are saying but if i run at 60Hz VS off, I hit 100+ FPS and my temps are the same on both cards just looking now, card1 is 70c and card2 is 53c this is at 100Hz but soon as i knock it off 100Hz back to 60Hz i get the same FPS and lower temps

Really my Question is would the cards have to work harder to run at 100Hz even if i got 60fps..

Depends whether you normally run V-SYNC or not.

60hz or 120hz, you are still driving the same FPS if you have V-SYNC disabled.

Normally off :)

Its getting hot in here lol looks like i will be going back to 60Hz, but i must say 100Hz look amazing now, i didn't see the difference before when i first got Catleaps but now its like night and day.
