After playing Mafia II last night for a couple of hours, I noticed that the temp of the GPU hit 84 C, sounds a bit high to me, it runs generally at 44 C. Do I need more fans in the case or are these temps normal.

I am using the components below, running the Dell ultrasharp 24" monitor at 1920x1200.

Thanks for any advice.

OcUK Value GeForce GTX 470 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Coolermaster CM-690 II Lite Dominator.

No need to worry, the GTX 470 and 480 are known to hit high temps at load, which is perfectly normal, around 95C+ then I would start to be concerned. Your idle temps look good aswell, so I think you have got a good air flow going on in your case. :)

Yep, the 400 series do get pretty hot, my top most card runs 10c warmer than the bottom one, (84-86c in certain games/benches on top card), cards clocked at 751mhz, the stock fan profile on theese cards is really poor, i checked mine last night playing cod mw, 50% ono, temps in the high 70's - low 80's. Im gonna ghetto mount a few extra fans in the case and experiment with custom fan profiles.
