GPU Temperature

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to get my PC cooling a bit better. I've recently got a new case, a coolermaster 430 black elite, and four Arctic F12 120mm fans. The case also came with one so I have five 120mm fans, and one 40 or 80, can't remember which size, at the bottom - I did want a 120 down there but the size of PSU won't allow it as it goes slightly over the 120mm fan screw holes.

The two top fans, and the back fan, are all exhausting heat. The side fan, front fan and bottom fan are sucking in, as far as I know this is the best way to have airflow? The case is also quite large and there is plenty of room for air to move around.

After playing GTA IV for around an hour, my GPU was hitting 68 degrees, and I'd like to try get that down a bit really. The CPU hit 45 degrees, which I'm fairly happy with. The GPU is sitting at between 29 and 30 degrees on idle.

My PC specs are as follows:
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard
QuadCore AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz processor
8GB RAM
Windows 7 64-bit
nVidia GeForce GTX 550 TI
Two 1TB hard drives

Any help with the GPU cooling would be helpful.

Also, my CPU is currently at 6 degrees on idle, which is about 15 degrees below ambient room temperature which doesn't quite seem right to me?

Again, any help on that matter would be appreciated.

I've got the Windows 7 gadget with Core temp running. My cousin uses the same and gets pretty accurate readings from it. I'll try HWMonitor

Got HWMonitor running. Under temperatures for my CPU it says 6 degrees for each core, and a maximum of 16 degrees (I haven't ran anything high load since turning the PC on).

Under the motherboard area, it has 29 degrees and 30 degrees max for TMPIN0 and TMPIN1 says 24 degrees for all values.

Also, HWmonitor is showing the same temps for the GPU as the GPU Meter gadget, currently 28 degrees.

Heat sink & Fan. It isn't a stock cooler, I can't remember which one; it's one I'm borrowing from my cousin till I get another. I know it's not a major one or anything, probably cost about £15 - £20 sort of range, I'll find out which one.

I'd like to try get it down to around 60 really, if possible anyway. Does anyone know if it's possible to change the GTX 550ti from a single fan unit to a duel fan unit by changing the face plate and such?

Cheers guys, I'll have a look around for the GPU cooling. Unfortunately neither of those two suggested seem to be compatible with a 550ti, but I'll have a look around.

I do have an alternative method to check my CPU temp, just can't use it at the moment. I have a temperature monitor for HDD and CPU temps to put in my case, but it needs a two pin connection which I don't have on my motherboard nor my PSU. I had it in my old build and it worked well. Does anyone know anywhere that sells two pin to molex connections? I've had a look around, but found nothing.
