Just installed windows 8 and noticed that my GPU idle and load temperatures are up at least 5 degrees, probably more! Also in Windows 7 both cards idled at the same but now card 1 idles about 4 degrees higher

What gives? : / tried both afterburner and GPUZ and both give the same temps

Also, My CPU temps are up about 5 degrees as well!

Running a 4.4ghz 2500k and 2x GTX 670's in SLI

Maybe Windows 8 is squeezing slightly more performance out of the card, thus generating more heat? I'm half-kidding there, because I can't think of any other reason why it would be hotter, other than a placebo effect of sorts.

Definitely not a placebo! I have literally only just come from Windos 7 to Windows 8 and the last thing I did on windows 7 was go sli and reseat my CPU. I was therefore monitoring temperatures a LOT and knew exactly where I was at.

GPU's used to idle at 27 degrees (both) now one idles at 32 and one idles at 30 : /. CPU temps are definitely 5 degrees or so hotter as well.

Lots of thing effect heat.. Sli, case, room temp, games you running.

You say the last thing you did on Windows 7 was Sli.. Did you do much gaming on Win7 with Sli enabled??

Sli/crossfire will output more heat and even after running games for while the heat can build up inside the case.
They temps you giving here are nothing to worry about, 4/5c isn't really a lot 10+ is a lot.

:D

My money is on heat build up in the case, especially if the cards aren't blowers.

See what the temps are doing first thing in the morning from a cold boot.
