Hi all

I've got my PC running and not currently in game but in the lobby and according to MSI afterburner my GPU temp is 89°C... That seems a silly temperature to me for something that's not really working yet...

GPU - RADEON RX570 4gb
Any help appreciated

Thanks

Yeah should be around the 70c to 80c range under load, 89c is a bit toasty.

An blower card I guess it could reach that temp.
If not I would check the GPU heatsink and pads are well seated and that the case airflow in and out is sufficient.

Without knowing what case or case airflow you have

Have you checked to see what temperatures you get with the side panel off the case ?

Kolink Citadel MATX TG
3 Corsair AF120 LED Fans one stock case fan 120mm

2 fans at the front for intake, one at rear for exhaust and one at the top exhaust aswell

I haven't tried with the side panel off, when I close games down and just browse the Internet the temps drop to around 50°C

Undervolt it, you should see a good drop in temps.

I had to do the same with my RX580, temps dropped from around 80C to never breaking 60.

How do you undervolt? I'll check YouTube for some tutorials...

I do have an RX590 on the way but thought I'd check about the current temps as they seem a tad high

@Minibiker

I'd just run 3D Mark or something, play a game for a bit maybe.

I don't know why but AMD cards since Polaris have used more power than is necessary, pretty much everything they've put out since responds well to undervolting.

OK I'll install a Benchmark app and play a couple of games.. Maybe they think they're helping by putting it out there with more power draw..

Thanks for your help
