Gpu that was artifacting

Hi guys need some advice.
Been offered a HD4890, that was originally an XFX black edition.
The seller mentioned to me that it started artifacting in furmark, so he stuck on the stock XFX bios onto it.
Now he is saying that it can run furmark fine.

Is this card on its way out? or would it be safe to use for a while yet?

Have to agree with kaapstad, don't touch it.

The artifacting should be a give away. they could have just done a temp fix to get the sale.
