CPU's have had duel core, Tri core, quad core and now hex core. Why have we not seen any multi core GPU's yet?

Is the graphics card industry just trying to eek every penny out of us?

I bet they have had them for years secretly stashed in their test labs!

CPU concentrates on many instructions per seconds, which tends to be in series, while the GPU works with parallel work. Hence why GPUs are composed of "little cores" packed together to make a GPU die. Well, that's how I understand it. I'm sure someone can explain it better than me :p.
