Ok so I have this build below

I know my current build is old and the GPU sucks soo bad in it but I want to squeeze maximum out of this PC especially in 900P on High/Very High/Ultra on the latest AAA games for the next around ~1 year if possible by upgrading GPU for which I have £117.

When it comes to GPU, I was thinking if I should go for a GTX 750Ti/R7 360 (2GB Versions) or just save up around £18 more and get the 4GB Version of R7 360 ?

What do you guys think ?

If you are patient you should be able to get a GTX960 4GB or R9 380 4GB for around £140. Also Polaris 11 should be launching in June which will replace the R9 380.

ye if you can wait untill june, that would be better, the New GPUs should be cheap and more performant, seems like a waste to buy a GPU right now, with the new line up being couple months away.

what these guys said is true... at the mean time if your temps are low .. do a 10% overclock... or some custom profiles that overclock in games or video.. and keep your fun near 80-100% so it wont overheat

Considering we're only getting Gtx 970 and 980 replacements soon I can't see the 960 dropping in price all that much at that budget you're best off going second hand like a 7970 or gtx 770 I'd go with 7970 it'll easily play games at that res

Are the 2nd hand GPU worth it ? I have a bad experience with used GPU's.
It's obviously going to vary on a case by case basis, but I've had far more hits than misses with used graphics cards. Just need to run a careful eye over pictures, descriptions and seller feedback before making a decision. The card being caked in dust is one thing in particular that's an instant no for me. As is no pictures at all, or the seller claiming it to be "untested" (i.e. 99.9% sure to be broken and being sold that way to scam people with no comeback).

Why not when it massively exceeds the ops stated requirements?
Because used 770s are generally priced around the same as used 7970s, and lag significantly behind in the performance stakes these days. I see no reason why you'd ever choose it over one of those, brand loyalty aside. Even a 7950 will comfortably outperform it and cost a good £20-30 less judging by the sold listings on the online jumble sale.

Still confused as hell ...

Can you explain what do you mean by caked in dust ? My fear is that a 2nd hand GPU will broke down after few months like it happened with my old Geforce 8800 GTX.

So in general I should either go for 2nd hand GTX 770 or that new R9 370 2GB ?

Nah u dont need more than 2gb especially for 900 res.

Are you sure that I can pull off Ultra in 900p on 2GB VRAM ?

Considering your PSU, I would get a used 2gb 960. If that' s not an option, I would wait, save and get the cheapest new 960. The extra cost of 4gb is not worth it at 900p. I would avoid the 770, it has not aged well and it would push your PSU.

I see. wouldn't 750 Ti get Ultra on 900p ? I can afford this one and it's new too.
