Undecided between the sapphire nitro rx 480, or a gtx 1070. I would use it to play games like dark souls 3, heroes and generals, red orchestra 2, doom, overwatch, and insurgency.

Future games I would be playing are battlefield one, tekken 7, and Xenoverse 2

For then extremely demanding games I could turn the settings down or the res, to 2560 x 1080, but for the most part I would want the games to look decent and run at 60-80 FPS for a year or so. I would be upgrading the rx480 to Vega when it comes out at the end of the year, with a freesync monitor, but with the 1070 id keep this monitor and gpu for probably 2 years.

gtx 1070 or a 980ti are perfect on that screen as it's only 60hz too and you can keep the games running at 3440x1400 without setting a lower resolution.

i think a 980ti is perfect for 3440x1440 but if your feeling brave 480 crossfire is a viable option providing crossfire works on the game of course

Definitely 1070 at that resolution. Even if you felt the itch to upgrade when the big chip cards come you wouldn't lose much on a 1070 because the next Titan/1080Ti will be in a much higher price bracket.

Which 1070 should I go for? Is there any performasnce difference across the range?
Which ones come with transferrable warranty/Best warranty? As I would like one that will hold value.
