Looking for a GPU around 100 quid that would work well with an AMD A8-5500 APU.

I currently have a Nvidia GTX 460 and I've been told that the two don't work well together.

Any advice would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Stick with the 460, it will probably perform better than a card working in crossfire with the APU.

Might be better off disabling the onboard GPU and overclocking the CPU for more performance.

Is it possible that the onboard GPU is overriding my Nvidia card? I seem to have lower framerate than when I had my Intel Q6300 chip. If so, how would I go about disabling onboard gfx? I have MSI afterburner and know the correct OC settings for my card so that wouldnt be problem.

Thanks again.

The Q6300 has higher IPC performance than the A8. It seems like you downgraded your CPU instead. Hence it's probably bottlenecking the 460. Best way to fix it is go back to the Q6300 or overclock the A8.

As long as the monitor is connected directly to the 460, then the onboard GPU is doing nothing. You can disable it via BIOS.

Would overclocking fix the bottlenecking problem? Also what settings would you reccomend for overclocking the A8?

EDIT: I sold my intel chip :s
