GPU Tweak 2 GPU BOOST?.

Is it OK to overclock just the GPU clock and nothing else or have you got to overclock other as well?. I have a Asus Strix 970 GTX that why I am using GPU tweak and not MSI afterburner. Default GPU Boost on gaming mode is 1253 and OC mode is 1275 and silent mode is 1233 with memory clock down by 20 to 6990 on silent mode.

I just wounded how far I could plonk the GPU clock up to be for altering anything else. Thanks.

Yeah gpu can be overclocked independently not a problem.

In terms of how far you can push the card varies based on the quality of your chip. I would set the power target as high as it can go which allows the card to pull any extra power it needs then start working on trying to find a nice stable overclock for the core and check in stuff like valley, 3D mark or whatever to ensure its stable. Also not your offsetting the base clock speed and the card will then boost itself higher. Ideally get something like a on screen display up or keep gpus running in the background to moniter actual clock speeds
