gpu upgrade advice

Hi to all as this is my first post,
now running 2 3850's 256Mb crossfire oc@720x1005 on x38 mobo,and a e8400 [email protected].
I have just upgraded monitor to a 22" would replacing gpu's with 1 4850 be worthwile preformance wise or should i stick it out till xmas and save for 4870

games still run ok @1680x1050 but it is a noticable change from 1280x1024
oh this is on xp32 (might go vista can't decide if its worth it)

well what's your budget? 4850 would be good at that res, but if you can stretch it, a 4870 would be even better

well flebay 3850's should net about £80ish got about £40 left =4850
or wait 3 months for 4870

but would the 4850 give any large improvements over current setup

at your resolution yeh it would, 256mb isn't enough

hi kane 4850 is best for budget have been looking for 3850xfire vs 1x4850 comparisons but no luck has anyone done this upgrade.
what kind of preformance boost would this give.

actually, you could wait becuase a new gtx 260 is coming out, with more shaders, higher clocks etc, it should push the price down of current cards
