Hello my fellow OCUK members

I trust you are all well and getting by the Wednesday bump :D

I was wondering if you could assist, my buddy has asked me to look into a new GFX card for him with a budget between £350 and £400. I know you guys and gals love these sort of challenges so here you go :P

Below is what he has

Powercolor Radeon R9 280 TurboDUO 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Below is his build, if he needs a new PSU please let me know.

Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail
Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
TeamGroup Vulcan ORANGE 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLAD38G2400HC11CDC01)
NZXT Hale Power 90+ 550W '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply

Thank you in advance

Hi Gang

Thank you for the replies so far :)

Crossfire will cause more "work" for me as he is a complete novice when it comes to Hardware.

I will not tell him about 4K yet so 1080 is the max he will need.
The Nano looks interesting but is there nothing more powerful for said price or is the R9 Nano the new sliced bread?

What minimum wattage would I need the PSU to be?

Well, for another score your friend could go for the R9 Fury - which will be a few fps faster. I suppose for £20 or so it might be worth it.

Both the Nano and Fury require a 500w or greater psu.
